Our abiding God, with your silent strength you fill us with the feelings of joyand wonder at so many things in our life. We have friends and family; we enjoycompany and companionship; we watch our children and our neighbors’ childrengrow and develop.
We trust you to watch our every move and the moves of those children yougiven us and our neighbors. We watch those whom you have trusted us to raiseand rear as they develop into people of the promise. We watch as their dreamsand aspirations grow and become obvious to all. We watch as they reflect thekind of care, concern, and gratitude that life has for everyone. They teach usmuch about you and your genuine love for humanity.
Eternal God, we praise your life-giving nurturing, your patience, your loveand your blessing as they emerge from those same children. Guide us as wenurture them and teach them about life and your enduring love for us all. In yourholy name we offer both our thanksgiving and our prayer.
